Linton Falls on the River Wharfe between Grassington and the village of Linton. Linton is a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire in the Yorkshire Dales across the River Wharfe, from Grassington, near Threshfield and eight miles north of the market town Skipton. One well known former resident of Linton is Angela Baker, one of the real Calendar Girls (Miss February), whose story inspired the famous film starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters. A hydroelectric plant was built at Linton Falls in 1909, bringing electricity to the village of Grassington, but was abandoned in 1948.
