Derry or Londonderry is a city in Northern Ireland and came into existence in 546 AD, when St Columba or Colmcille founded a monastery beside the River Foyle. Derry is one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in Ireland and is the only remaining completely walled city in Ireland.
