La Caleta de Velez is a fishing town on the coast of the Axarquía district in the province of Málaga in the Spanish Autonomous Community of Andalusia. Caleta means bay in Spanish and the name of this town means The Bay of Velez-Malaga. Vélez-Málaga, locally referred to as Vélez, is a municipality in the province of Málaga and forms part of the Costa del Sol region. La Caleta de Velez lies adjacent to the resort of Torre del Mar and 30 kilometres from Malaga. La Caleta de Velez is the primary fishing harbour and market of the Malaga Province. |
