Oliva is a municipality in Valencia, Spain. It is located in
the local Valencian comarca of Safor. This view is taken from
Castilla de Santa Ana. The castle is on mount Santa Ana, where
the remains of the fortifications of the hermitage of the same
name can also be found. It has a rectangular layout and has two
circular towers placed at the Northeast and the Southwest of
the fortress. Oliva and its territory constitute, since old times,
a place of setting for the different people that have settled
in the Mediterranean through the years. Iberians, Romans, Muslims
and Christians have lived here and have left their mark. |
